A 33-year-old woman is being held in the custody of Nigeria’s Ogun State Police Command for allegedly squeezing her landlord’s testicles to death during a dispute over an electricity bill.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Ifeoma Ossai was arrested by police on Saturday, March 11 in Sango-Ota following the tragic death of her 50-year-old landlord, Monday Oladele.

In a statement to confirm the incident, the state Police Spokesman, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect was apprehended after a report was lodged at the Sango Ota Divisional Headquarters by one Olaleye Taiwo.

According to the police chief, the complainant reported that his brother had a dispute with a tenant over the payment of an electricity bill.
He went on to say that during the argument, Ossai grabbed the deceased’s private part and dragged him with it.

The landlord collapsed unconscious and was rushed to Ota General Hospital, where the attending doctor pronounced him dead.

“Upon receiving the report, CSP Saleh Dahiru, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Sango Ota Division, led his detectives to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested and taken into custody for investigation.”

During questioning, the suspect stated that the deceased asked her to pay the electricity bill.

“However, she insisted on not paying the electricity or any other utility bill until the water was directly connected to her apartment as promised by the landlord before she packed in,” SP Oyeyemi said in a statement.

According to NAN, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, has ordered that the suspect be immediately transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department’s homicide section for thorough investigation and prosecution.

The body of the deceased landlord has been deposited at the Ota General Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
