Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumaia has stated that the Akufo-Addo administration has built more schools, roads, airports, and interchanges than any other government in the Fourth Republic in the last six years.
He has urged Ghanaians to remember the government’s achievements in the midst of the country’s current economic turmoil.
Dr. Bawumia stated that the difficulties are felt globally, not just in Ghana.
On Saturday, November 5, he said at the Hogbestosto Festival in Anlo, Volta Region, “we all know we are facing global economic crisis, which Togbe Sri III alluded to.” This is a crisis that is being felt all over the world, and the cost of living has risen dramatically.
“If you look at the cost of living as measured by the rate of inflation, between 2019 and now, the rate of inflation has increased five-fold in Ghana, sixteen-fold in Togo, eleven-fold in Senegal, seven-fold in Côte d’Ivoire, and eight-fold in the United Kingdom.”
“The rise in the cost of living has caused hardship in many countries, not just Ghana.” Indeed, the BBC reported about two weeks ago that there have been public protests against rising living costs in 93 countries this year. It is critical to remember, however, that in the midst of all of this turmoil, we must keep things in perspective.

“The government of Nana Akufo-Addo has taken many steps over the last six years to reposition and transform the economy,” he added. So, while we have difficulties today that we are working hard to alleviate, and Insha Allah, we will deal with them, let us not forget what we have accomplished in the last six years.”
” Let me remind you that in the last six years, our government has created more jobs, and built more roads, interchanges, classrooms, airports, and railways than any other government in the Fourth Republic.”
