The Ghana Immigration Service’s Head of Public Affairs, Michael Amoako-Atta, has denied allegations that officers were inept in allowing a Chinese galamsey businesswoman to re-enter the country.
He claimed that the officers “intercepted” Aisha Huang and turned her over to National Security for prosecution.
The “galamsey kingpin,” Aisha Huang, who was deported in 2019 has returned to Ghana and appeared before an Accra Circuit Court on Friday with Johng Li Hua, Huang Jei, Huaid Hai Hun and other two people who were being held in custody with her.
She was accused of engaging in the sale and acquisition of minerals without a valid authorization as well as illegal mining.
