The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the provisional results for the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates.
According to WAEC, a total of 43,742 candidates sat for the examination, comprising 20,164 males and 23,578 females. Among them were 76 visually impaired candidates and 2 hearing-impaired candidates, demonstrating the council’s inclusive examination efforts.
However, WAEC revealed that the results of approximately 901 candidates have been withheld due to alleged examination malpractice. Investigations into these cases are currently underway, and final decisions will be made based on the outcomes.
In a cautionary statement, WAEC urged the public to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to scammers who claim they can upgrade examination results for a fee.
“Candidates are reminded that WAEC’s results database is secured, and all results are based solely on candidates’ performance,” the Council emphasized.
Candidates can access their results online via the WAEC website using their unique access codes.
