Vodafone Ghana to train 1000 girls in free Coding Programme

Vodafone Ghana will train 1000 girls in its free virtual nationwide coding programme, Code-Like-A-Girl, over the next twelve months.

Patricia Obo-Nai, the CEO of Vodafone Ghana, made the announcement on September 1, 2022, at the 2022 Vodafone Skills Fair.

“I am overjoyed to announce that our coding programme will be held again this year.” This virtual programme will educate 1000 girls aged 7 to 18. It is a three-day free programme. You only need a device… Simply follow our pages. “You will be given registration links, and we will train you,” she said.

Patricia explained that the project was in line with the company’s commitment to using its resources, expertise, and technology to help young people learn new skills that will prepare them for a career in the future.

She went on to say that, in addition to the Vodafone Skills Fair and nationwide coding training, Vodafone Ghana has launched other initiatives such as the Discover Graduate Programme, the Female Engineering Scholarship Programme (FESSP), and internship opportunities, all of which are aimed at preparing young people for the job market.

The CEO was confident that Vodafone’s investment in these initiatives would result in more job opportunities for young people because they are equipped with in-demand skills.

On Thursday, September 1, 2022, Vodafone Ghana held the 2022 edition of its Skills Fair. Vodafone Skills Fair is the company’s flagship corporate social responsibility programme.

It provides a forum for young Ghanaians to network with experienced professionals who have carved out successful careers in their respective fields.
