Unposted nurses protest over failure of gov’t to employ them

On Tuesday, a group calling itself the Coalition of Unemployed Graduate Nurses Assistants, Clinical and Preventive, marched through Tamale, protesting what they claim is the government’s failure to hire them since they graduated in 2019.

Staying at home for three years without any form of employment, they claim, is affecting their livelihood.
As a result, they are urging the government to prioritize the health of its citizens and hire more health care workers.

“We have followed up on this numerous times with no success.” When we last checked in, we were told that a committee had been formed to look into the matter, and that “from what they are telling us, they do not have money right now.” A member complained.

“They only gave us the clearance because we asked for it, but they don’t have any money right now, so they said we should give them more time.” “We are disappointed because things are difficult,” he added.
