UEW final-year students to protest and boycott exams

Students in their final year at the University of Education Winneba (UEW) are still upset about management’s failure to address concerns about their cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA).

The school’s administration had given an October 7, 2022 deadline to resolve the outstanding issues but had yet to do so.

On Friday, students protested on the university’s southern campus, expressing their outbursts.

As a result, they have threatened to hold another protest on Monday, October 10, 2022, if their concerns are not addressed.

Furthermore, the agitated students have stated that they will not take the exams scheduled for them next week.

“All they’re doing is frustrating us.” They told us to retake the exam on Monday. We will not be taking the exams. If things aren’t done correctly, we’ll retaliate,” one of those affected told Citi News on the condition of anonymity.

Students have complained that their GPA records have not been updated by the school.  The uproar coincided with the students’ impending graduation in a few weeks.

In addition, the school is establishing a help center to receive complaints.
