On Saturday, December 10, 2022, at a farming village called “Ata ne Ata” in the Asutifi South area of the Ahafo Region, a Kia truck reportedly ran over eleven people, killing them and injuring others.
The event happened when a tricycle turned in the center of the road after passing another vehicle that was hauling passengers and some bags of ginger.
Ten of the passengers died instantly, one died later at the hospital, and the other passengers had injuries of varying severity.
The victim is claimed to have been run over and killed by an approaching Kia truck from Goaso, dying there and then.

The corpses have been deposited at the mortuary, while the victims have since been receiving medical care at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Hospital in Hwidiem.
