Robertson County, TN — In a heartbreaking incident early Sunday morning, six people — including five children — lost their lives in a devastating crash on Interstate 24 in Tennessee. The tragedy unfolded near mile marker 23 in Robertson County, drawing an urgent response from emergency services.
According to Robertson County Emergency Medical Services, two vehicles were involved in the fatal crash, which left one vehicle overturned and extensively damaged. Emergency teams, including four Advanced Life Support ambulances and an air ambulance, rushed to the scene to assist nine individuals involved in the collision.
The victims included five children, all believed to be between the ages of 1 and 18, and one adult, all of whom were pronounced dead at the scene after suffering injuries deemed “non-survivable.” Officials confirmed the victims were likely ejected from the vehicle upon impact.
An adult woman, believed to have been ejected from the vehicle as well, was found in critical condition and airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Her current status remains unknown.
One adult male, reportedly in the overturned vehicle, sustained only minor injuries and was able to walk at the scene. Another adult, the driver of the second vehicle, was not injured.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol has launched a full investigation into the cause of the crash and is expected to release additional details as they become available.
“This was an incredibly difficult scene,” officials stated. “Mental health and counseling support have been coordinated for all responders.”
Authorities are asking the public to keep the families of the victims and those impacted by the tragedy in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
