Exactly three years after Mark Ofori, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Treasurer for the Takoradi Constituency, was fatally shot at his Fijai home by an unidentified assailant, his family claims that justice has not yet been served and it’s long overdue.
Family members contend that every attempt to persuade the police and the party to uphold their promise to provide them with justice has failed.
Dillyx Ofori, a sister of the deceased, told Citi News that the family has been seeking answers from the police and the party on the status of investigations into the case for the past three years, but to no avail.
“When the incident occurred, we were assured that the family would receive justice, but as of now, we have heard nothing from the police.” “We’ve even written petitions to the party’s regional and constituency offices, but we haven’t heard back from them either,” she said.
On October 30, 2019, the NPP Takoradi Constituency Treasurer was attacked and killed by gunfire inside his home.
His sister tells Citi News that because the murderer has still not been apprehended, the death has been difficult for the family over the past three years.

“Even though it’s been three years, the pain is as fresh as yesterday for us as a family.” We know we will never have him back, but when justice is served, it will help to ease our pain. All we are seeking is justice. “Everyone in the family is still in pain, and we need answers,” she added.
The family had previously expressed surprise at the coroner’s report that the police had given to them because it contained information that was contrary to what the late treasurer’s wife had claimed happened.
