Ghana: Immigration Officer shot dead and two others in critical condition

One Ghana Immigration Service officer has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Bawku, Upper East Region. Two other officers who were traveling with the deceased were shot in varying degrees and are in critical condition, receiving treatment. The Ghana Immigration Service’s Head of Public Affairs, Michael Amoako-Atta, has denied allegations that officers were inept in allowing a Chinese galamsey businesswoman to re-enter the country.
