Soldiers honoured for foiling Bullion Van attack

Mr Habib Sanda, Head of Security and Investigations, Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG), led a delegation from the bank to honour a Section of Soldiers of the Army Headquarters, for successfully foiling a potential attack on one of the bank’s bullion vans, arresting the culprits and handing them over to the Ghana Police Service.

Mr Sanda, who recounted the events to the Army Headquarters’ Chief Staff Officer (CSO), Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Charles Agyemang-Prempeh, on Monday, 9 May 2022, presented the Soldiers with a Letter of Commendation and an undisclosed sum of money in appreciation for their professionalism and diligence in the execution of their duties.

He also stated that about a month ago, Soldiers from the Army Headquarters Camp, who were assigned to Bullion Van Escort Duties for the CBG Bank, successfully foiled a potential bullion van attack, and that subsequent investigations revealed that the perpetrators were on the Police wanted list for a variety of crimes.
