Saudi Arabia celebrates defeat of Argentina with public holiday

After their stunning victory over Argentina in the 2022 World Cup, things are only getting better for the Saudi people.

King Salman issued directives on Tuesday declaring Wednesday, Nov. 23, a holiday for all employees in the government and private sectors, as well as students at all levels of education.

This is consistent with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman’s recommendation to commemorate the joyous occasion of the Saudi national team’s stunning victory over Argentina in their opening game of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar.

The Green Falcons defeated Argentina’s two-time World Champions, Lionel Messi’s Argentina, 2-1 at Qatar’s Lusail Stadium.
