According to available statistics, the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has recorded a margin of decrease in road fatalities in the Eastern Region.
Between January and October 2022, 325 people were killed in 1177 crashes, compared to 357 people killed in the same period last year.
“We started seeing a decrease in fatalities in March, and we now have a decrease of well over 8%.” So, with the campaign, we are confident that we will continue to reduce the figures into next year,” says Dennis Yirebu, the Authority’s Eastern Regional Director.
Dennis Yirebu told Citi News that the authority will strengthen its collaboration with various stakeholders in order to reduce fatalities even further.
