Replace Ofori-Atta with Assibey-Yeboah, says Addai-Nimoh

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo should replace Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta with Dr Mark Assibey-Yeboah, a former Member of Parliament for New Juabeng South, according to Francis Addai-Nimoh.

Mr Addai-Nimoh believes Mr Ofori-Atta has stayed too long at the Finance Ministry and that he should be transferred to another Ministry, either Health or Foreign Affairs.

He also stated that Dr Assibey-Yeboah, who also served on the Finance Committee of the 7th Parliament, possesses the necessary financial skills and competence to lead the Finance Ministry and should be considered.

“A reshuffle of the Finance Minister would have been ideal, but the president has the final say,” he told Johnnie Hughes on TV3’s New Day on Tuesday, September 27.

“Of course, I would have reshuffled him to another ministry, such as Health or Foreign Affairs, and replaced him with people like Assibey-Yeboah,” he added. Assibey-Yeboah is no longer a member of Parliament, and Ofori-Atta is no longer a member of Parliament.”

President Akufo-Addo recently stated that he was pleased with the work of his appointees.

He stated that the majority of his ministers have been preparing for this moment. He stated that their output has been significant, and that is what he considers.

Mr Akufo-Addo stated this when asked about calls to reshuffle his ministers while speaking on North Star Radio in Tamale on Monday, August 8 as part of his two-day tour of the Northern Region.

“Many of them have done outstanding work for me,” he said.

“Their output has been significant, and that is what I consider,” he added.

“If the output measures expectations, then I don’t have any strong reasons to heed the call,” the president added.
