A video of the brawl shows suspect Francis Tutu Atuahene, also known as Aroma, a level 200 student at the university, with an aggressive weapon among other things.
Daniel Osei Bonsu, a suspect who graduated from the university in the year 2020 and goes by the pseudonym Saint, was also seen destroying properties on the campus.
The two were brought before the Asokore Mampong Magistrate Court and were remanded into police custody with a September 8, 2022, court date set for their next appearance.
This brings the total number of arrests to three (3) as Elvis Nsiah, a level-200 student at the university, was also arrested earlier for the offence of making a death threat.
The defendant, Nsiah, was charged with making threats to stab five other students and one student from the university’s Continental Hall in order to satisfy the gods.
The investigation to apprehend all other perpetrators is still ongoing.
Also, a lecturer at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has requested that the students involved in the Conti-Katanga clash be severely punished.

According to Dr Jones Opoku-Ware, such acts endanger academic freedom and cannot be ignored.
As a result, he wishes to punish those involved in the clash in order to serve as a deterrent to others.
“If we continue to let these students go free, we will see these incidents reoccur.”
“It’s time to severely punish these offenders so that they can serve as a scapegoat for others,” he said in an interview with Joy News.
