P.C Appiah-Ofori, former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa constituency and anti-corruption campaigner, has expressed dissatisfaction with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-efforts Addo’s to combat corruption.
According to him, the country’s corrupt officers have not been sufficiently punished.
He stated that people who are fired for corruption should be prosecuted in order to deter others.
“As far as I’m concerned, the way he made us believe that Ghana would be prosperous under his administration with the fight against corruption; He made that promise and we’re in the sixth year and not much has been seen,” he said.
On the 3FM Sunrise Morning Show, he told Alfred Ocansey, “We look serious about the battle against corruption, which is why the OSP has been formed, but when the OSP lacks resources and the authority to bring charges, then it is problematic.

“If people engage in corrupt behaviour and are not held accountable, it benefits everyone who is interested in it, but when there is prosecution, it sends a signal to others who wish to engage in corrupt behaviour that they should be afraid.”
Mr Appiah Ofori urged all Ghanaians to participate in the battle against corruption because if it is not stopped, Ghana will not have a future. Ghana needs money, and if we allow a few individuals to take the nation’s funds, the elderly will depart, and the younger generations would suffer.
