According to police, a Nigerian boy was killed by his brother while testing a newly purchased “bullet-proof” charm.
The police in Kwara state said the two believed they had “fortified themselves with the protective charm.”
Officers say Abubakar Abubakar then shot at his younger brother Yusuf, 12, with their father’s rifle. The alleged murderer is now being sought by police. Despite the lack of evidence, some Nigerians use charms to protect themselves from bad luck.
Several reports have surfaced of people being killed after testing “bullet-proof” charms and medicines.

It is unclear why the two brothers went in search of safety.
According to police, Yusuf Abubakar died on the spot after the shooting, while his older brother fled into the bushes.
The two brothers were the hunter’s sons.
The police have urged parents to “monitor their children’s activities and avoid certain unsavoury activities.”
