President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has demonstrated that he is not on top of his job, according to National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Youth Organiser George Opare Addo.
He claims the president is either sleeping on the job or is unaware of his responsibilities as President of the Republic of Ghana.
Mr Opare Addo was speaking in response to President Akufo-admission Addo’s that he was unsure whether popular Chinese galamsey queen Aisha Huang was deported in 2018.
On Tuesday, September 13, President Akufo-Addo admitted on Ho-based Stonecity Radio that there is some uncertainty surrounding the residency status of Chinese national Aisha Huang, also known as En Huang, in 2018.
“When you’re in a situation like this woman’s [Aisha Huang’s]… “I’m not sure whether she was deported or whether she fled the country the first time and has now returned, or whatever, but there still appears to be some uncertainty,” he said.
However, speaking on TV3’s New Day on September 14, the NDC’s National Youth Organiser stated that this is not the first time President Akufo-Addo has denied knowledge of open secrets.
“This is the same man who told us Aisha Huang was deported,” he said, referring to the President’s statement at Princeton University in the United States of America in 2019.

President Akufo-Addo stated at the forum, “I think the decision to deport Aisha Huang was a mistake in hindsight, and that is why that process and procedure is being stopped.”
“How do you combine the two?” “How do you interpret what he’s saying to us?” Mr Opare Addo was perplexed.
He stated that as a former District Chief Executive (DCE) and the head of the District Security Council (DISEC), security briefings are given on a regular basis.
As a result, he emphasised, the President, as Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, receives more frequent briefings.
According to the former Akwapim North DCE, no antics can push the Aisha Huang issue to the backburner, and the revelations only call the President’s competence into question.
“That demonstrates His Excellency the President’s incompetence.”
