Nana Agradaa remanded into police custody till Otober 13

Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, also known as Nana Agradaa, the head pastor of Heaven Way Church, has been remanded in police custody for three days.

This comes after she appeared in court on Monday for an alleged money-doubling scheme.

She is charged with seven counts of defrauding by false pretense and using charlatanic advertisements on television and in newspapers to entice her victims.

Nana Agradaa is due back in court on Thursday, October 13, 2022.

Agradaa, the Founder of the Heaven Way Church in Weija, Accra, was arrested on Sunday after some of her church members accused her of money laundering.

This was in response to viral social media reports showing members of the church, both new and old, thronging the church grounds to demand their money.

As a result, the police have urged victims of the alleged money-doubling scam to contact the Accra Regional Police Command for further investigation.

Last Saturday, a viral video showed disgruntled church members alleging that their leader, a former traditional priestess, had duped them.

Nana Agradaa, also known as Mama Pat, had promised to double their money through her special spiritual purifications, they claimed.

As a result, the church members claimed, they gave her various sums of money only to discover that the promise was a ruse.

She responded to allegations of fraud by denying defrauding or swindling members of her church.

In a video, she explained that she actually invited church members for service last Friday and distributed money to help them with their various businesses.

She also said she invited anyone interested in receiving assistance to come to church on Friday (October 7, 2022), convert to Christianity, and become a church member.

Last Friday, she said, there was also fundraising through offertory, as is customary for a church.
