Ebenezer Amoaquandoh, a 31-year-old Mobile Money dealer, is fighting for his life after two armed men on a motorcycle assaulted and shot him at Gomoa Akotsi in the Central Region’s Gomoa East District.
The robbers also made off with GH30,000 in cash.
Calvis Tetteh, Citi News’ Central Regional Correspondent, said that the incident occurred on Tuesday about 9:00 p.m. at the Gomoa Akotsi Lorry station, just after the seller closed his shop and was ready to leave for his residence.
According to Amoaquandoh, the unknown intruders on a motorcycle fired a warning shot before demanding the bag holding the money.
After he refused to hand over the money, one of the armed men shot him in the left leg with a pump action gun, while the other struck him in the head with sharp items, according to Ebenezer.
Ebenezer, who is now being treated at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital, informed Citi News that the criminals were successful in stealing the bag carrying the aforementioned sum.
