Mohammed Kudus makes Champions League team of the week

Mohammed Kudus has been named to the Champions League team of the week as a result of his outstanding performance for Ajax, who began their season with a convincing home win on Wednesday.

After leading the Dutch champions to a 4-0 victory over Rangers at Amsterdam ArenA, the Ghana international was named man of the match.

The 22-year-old dominated the game from beginning to end, earning a standing ovation when he was replaced in the 89th minute.

Kudus scored the game’s third goal, an absolute stunner, after completing five dribbles, 100% of his passes, and five ground duels.

He scored in the 32nd minute after assisting on the second goal. Kudus eluded defenders before entering the penalty area from the left side and firing an arrow into the post and into the net for his first Champions League goal.

Due to a lack of regular playing time, Kudus attempted to force his way out of Ajax during the recently concluded transfer window.

In an attempt to secure a move to Everton, the 22-year-old had been demoted to the bench and boycotted training.
Kudus agreed on personal terms with Everton, but the transfer was blocked by Ajax.

After scoring in Ajax’s 4-0 win over Cambuur the previous Saturday, Kudus was given his first start of the season against Rangers, and the talented playmaker scored again.
