After meeting with the National Labour Commission, Metro Mass Transit strikers agreed to call off their strike.
Workers who have been on a sit-down strike since October 12 agreed to return to work on the advice of the National Labor Relations Board in order for the disputing parties to come to the table and find long-term solutions.
The employees went on strike because their two-month salaries were not paid on time.
Metro Mass Transit customers were left stranded across the country, prompting the NLC to intervene.
They also demanded the firing of their Managing Director, whom they blame for their current predicament.

Metro Mass Transit’s management responded to the calls by claiming that the company’s difficulties were due to logistical constraints.
It claims to have only 187 buses nationwide and struggles to generate enough revenue to support 2,000 employees.
