Former President John Dramani Mahama has congratulated Kenyan President Dr. William Samoei Ruto on his election.
Mr Mahama urged him to unite the people in order to achieve growth and prosperity.
“As the bearer of the Kenyan people’s trust, as affirmed in a clear, transparent manner by the Supreme Court, now is the time to unite Kenya’s good people for continued growth and prosperity.”
“I am confident that you will fulfill your mandate to the people.” “Wishing you a successful and impactful tenure as President of Kenya,” the National Democratic Congress’s 2020 presidential candidate said in a Facebook post on Tuesday, September 6.
On Monday, September 5, Kenya’s Supreme Court ruled that William Ruto was duly elected president.
As a result, the court dismissed the petitions seeking to overturn the results of the August 9 election.

Raila Odinga and others had claimed massive fraud, including tampering with results forms, had occurred.
Mr Ruto received 50.5% of the vote in the close election.
He is expected to be sworn in as the country’s fifth president next week.
