Lower Manya Krobo MP and 14 others are summoned by ECG

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has summoned the Member of Parliament for the Lower Manya Krobo Constituency, Ebenezer Teye Larbi, and 14 other customers for illegal power consumption in Kpong-Lorlornyor, a town in the Lower Manya Krobo District.

The ECG task force discovered no one at the premises of some illegally connected buildings.

According to Citi News sources, the perpetrators, including the MP, left their residence before the task force arrived.

Sakyiwaa Mensah, the Public Relations Officer of ECG in the Tema Region, confirmed the operation and warned customers not to engage in such behavior.

“As part of ECG’s operational activities, we periodically monitor our operations.” We discovered in Odumase that the MP for Lower Manya Krobo had also connected illegally. This problem arose earlier, and we followed up on it. He reported that two of his meters had been stolen. We requested a police report, which we are still working on. Currently, those two apartments were supposed to be disconnected.”

“We discovered that those two apartments still have electricity.” We discovered that he has four meters after further investigation on the field. This was regarded as an illegal connection by ECG. We did not meet the MP in the house, but we did serve him with a summons. We urge all of our customers to be cautious in their dealings because the law allows us to prosecute such cases.”

However, the MP rejected the ECG’s claims.
