The Live Hub, the promoters of the much-awaited Wizkid Live event in Accra, have apologised in writing after Wizkid skipped his scheduled performance at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The event’s organisers expressed regret to the attendees for the trouble they had created and promised to return their ticket barcode for a reimbursement.
“We deeply regret for any trouble this may have caused,” they wrote in the apologetic message on Instagram. Please provide us your ticket barcode through email so we can issue a full refund to everyone.
Wizkid, a well-known Nigerian artist, received criticism from many Ghanaian fans on social media when he skipped his own headline performance.
Many Ghanaians and ravegoers flocked to the Accra Sports Stadium for the event, which was scheduled to take place on December 10, 2022, to watch their idol perform.
The audience was irate and angry as they waited impatiently for Wizkid to take the stage since 4 p.m. the day before. They either demanded a refund or insisted on seeing the “Starboy” perform before leaving.
A number of performances by artists like Gyakie, Efya, Darkovibes, and others were seen, but not the man of the hour.

While some have advocated for the banning of Wizkid, the concert’s organizers received praise for one of the most shambolic Wizkid performances ever.
