Rosemond Alade Brown, also known as Akuapem Poloo, a social media personality, says she is serious about her campaign against nudity on social media following her brief stint in the Nsawam Prison.
She stated that she realised that posting naked photos on social media could be against the law, thus her opposition.
Akuapem Poloo told Citi News on Saturday that she was deeply sorry for her actions that landed her in jail last week.
She was granted bail after receiving a 90-day prison sentence for publishing a photo of herself posing naked in front of her son, and she urged the public not to replicate her actions.
She was found guilty of publishing obscene material and violating the integrity and dignity of her seven-year-old son by an Accra court last week and sentenced, but her lawyers were able to secure GHS80,000 bail for her, pending the outcome of her counsel’s appeal against the sentence.
She claimed she had no idea her actions would land her in jail, adding that the previous year had taught her a valuable lesson.
She stated that she had not posted anything nude on social media prior to her sentence, which she believes demonstrates her commitment to a ‘Stop Nudity’ campaign.

“I had no idea I’d be imprisoned for 90 days.” I had no idea what I had done could land me in prison. [When I was sentenced], I was so depressed that I couldn’t see anything. I have not posted anything nude [on social media] since the 30th of June 2020, my son’s birthday, when I posted that photo. “It’s been a year, and I’m dead serious about stopping nudity,” she explained.
“I want to urge my colleagues and young people to refrain from such an act, particularly all forms of nudity.” We must put a stop to it. It’s not good,” she added to the press.
