A three-day period of torrential rain has left hundreds of Ashalaja residents in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region homeless.
The spillage of the Weija dam is said to have made matters worse.
The majority of the low-lying areas consequently experienced significant flooding. Passengers are stranded because a portion of the road connecting Ashalaja and Amasaman has caved in.
As they paid to transport stranded passengers back to their destinations, commercial motor riders enjoyed a windfall.
