Three people were killed in a motorcycle accident in Yaw Bronya, Bosome Freho District, Ashanti Region.
The three victims, Augustine Annor, Kwame Reuben, and a female victim in her late sixties, have yet to be identified.
In his line of duty, Augustine Annor is said to have hired Kwame Reuben to transport him to Foase.
After hitting a pothole on the road, the high-speed motorcycle lost its balance. As a result, it collided with a female pedestrian crossing the street, killing all three victims on the spot.
Adomako Mensah, Assembly member for Tebeso Electoral Area, has documented a number of motorbike accidents caused by speeding.
He claims that many drivers disregard road safety precautions.
“They will not wear the helmet. The majority of these deaths could have been avoided if helmets had been worn.”
The deceased’s bodies have since been deposited at the mortuary for autopsies and preservation.
