The Ahanta West District Police Command has launched an investigation into his biological father’s alleged shooting death of a 25-year-old man for being stubborn.
The incident occurred in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region at Ahuntumanu.
In a fit of rage, the suspect, identified only as Uncle Awortwe, allegedly reached for a gun and pulled the trigger, instantly killing the son, also identified only as Ankoo.
According to 3news, Stephen Ackah, an assembly member for the area, confirmed the incidents to Connect FM.
Before his untimely death, the deceased, who lived in the Effia-Kwesimitsim Municipality, paid one of his regular visits to his father.
“The information I have gathered is that the son who is now deceased has become a burden to his father due to his bad attitude. He lives in Kwesimintsim, and whenever he visits his father, he steals and sells almost everything in the house. “His father has complained on several occasions, but he refuses to change his bad attitude. So it is claimed that he returned to visit his father and displayed a similar attitude, this time wanting to take away his hunting gun.
“His father became enraged and shot him,” Ackah told 3news
He went on to say that by the time neighbours arrived, Ankoo had died and his body was discovered in a pool of blood.
Uncle Awortwe, the suspect, is in police custody, and the deceased’s body has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
