Freddie Blay represents the other four galamseyers in Aisha Huang’s case

Former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Freddie Blay is representing the four other accused persons on trial alongside En Huang, also known as Aisha Huang, for illegal mining offences.

Today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, his colleague, Ekeleba Blay, represented him in court.

However, Lands and Natural Resources Minister Samuel Abdulai Jinapor stated that the state was unconcerned that the NPP’s former Chairman was representing alleged illegal miners.

Three other Chinese nationals on trial with Aisha Huang have been remanded into the National Investigations Bureau’s custody pending the outcome of their case.

The three are charged with engaging in illegal mining activities.

According to the facts of the case as read by Attorney General Godfred Dame, receipts for mining concession purchases were found in their possession at the time of their arrest, and WhatsApp conversations between them are said to indicate their involvement in illegal mining activities.

However, the three individuals pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The plea of one other accused, a Vietnamese national, was postponed because the court did not have an interpreter on standby.
