Francisca Lamini chooses Harvard over Stanford and two others

Francisca Lamini, one of the faces of 2021 NMSQ has gained admission into Harvard.

The Harvard freshman said she was surprised to be accepted by Harvard University, Cornell University, Stanford University, and New York University (Abu Dhabi), all of which offered full scholarships.
“I finally decided to pursue a pre-med degree at Harvard University.” She said with excitement.
Francisca Lamini, the 2021 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) poster girl, and a former Keta Senior High School (KETASCO) student appears to be very excited about her new prospects, as she expressed in a Facebook post.
“She said, “I’ve always wanted to be a medical doctor and I’m glad I can now make that happen.”
She and her other KETASCO team members made history by qualifying for the NSMQ finals in 2021, during which she gained public attention.
Though her school did not win the grand prize, she was praised for being the only female in the popular quiz show’s grand finale in the previous eight years.
Despite this, Francisca received straight As in the November/December private WAEC exams and the recently completed West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) when the results were released on December 8.
Francisca left the shores of Ghana on August 16, for the United States of America.
Recounting the events after the NMSQ, she stated she had already learned a great deal.
She expressed gratitude to her benefactors and donors for making her journey to the prestigious college a success.
“I’d like to thank Ghanaians for their support following the NSMQ. “It was overwhelming,” she continued.

Francisca who initially wanted to attend Yale University is starting her academic career on a full scholarship at Harvard.
Her acceptance to the prestigious institution was announced earlier this year.
Sangu Delle, the Chair of Harvard Interviews in Ghana, wrote, “…I can confirm that Francisca Lamini has been admitted to Harvard College (undergraduate) on a full scholarship.”
Miss Lamini also stated, that her inspiration and drive have always been to make her mother, Ms Benedicta Awudi proud – and now she can.
She appreciated several CEOs who came together to make her journey a successful one.
Ms Angela Kyerematen-Jimoh and her sister-in-law Mrs Majorie Kyerematen among other benefactors were instrumental in her Harvard journey after the NSMQ.
