Four were killed and others seriously injured in an accident

A school bus accident on the Terchire-Adrobaa stretch in the Tano North district of the Bono Region is said to have killed four students and injured scores more.

The old Benz school car, registration number AW 6315-11, was transporting approximately 25 DS Elite Academy students when it slid off the newly constructed Adrobaa road.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver slid off the slippery road when approaching a sharp curve, causing the car to somersault.

Three of the students died on the spot, and another was pronounced dead shortly afterward at the hospital. Four other students are in critical condition, and the remaining students have suffered varying degrees of injury.

The victims were taken to St John’s Hospital in Duayaw-Nkwanta, with the remainder being taken to Adrobaa Health Center.

The four people with potentially fatal injuries have been taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

 

A teacher who spoke on the subject stated that the school had never recorded such an incident in their 15 years of operation.

Other residents stated that the newly constructed Adrobaa-Terchire stretch is an accident-prone area, with four fatal accidents occurring in the last few weeks.
