A 74-year-old man died after a fire destroyed his five-bedroom house in Aburaso, Ashanti region.
The deceased, identified as Stephen Dapaah, was a former Ashanti Regional Director of Audit Service.
The unfortunate incident occurred on September 10, 2022.
According to eyewitnesses, three other occupants of the house were injured, and one lost consciousness and is being treated at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital as a result of the incident.
The deceased’s son, two grandchildren, and daughter-in-law were among those injured.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the assembly member for the area, Emmanuel Nyanteng, who has been narrating the incident to Citi News.

“I was called around 1:30 a.m. to report a fire.” So I called the fire department to come over. We arrived at the scene to find the house on fire. The officers did everything they could to save Mr Dapaah’s life, but he died. He was reduced to ashes. The others were hurt. “They are traumatized, but they are being treated,” he said.
