Five people were killed when a boat carrying mourners capsized on Volta Lake. The 18th of March is a Saturday.
Five of the over 20 passengers on board have been confirmed dead, and a search for survivors is ongoing.
Strong winds are said to have caused the incident, which occurred around 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Three of the five people killed were children under the age of three and two women. There were no life jackets for any of the passengers.
According to the Assembly member, the boat was supposed to carry 25 passengers, but he believes there were more on board.
