A special police operation in Ellembelle between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, September 8, resulted in the arrest of five Chinese.
The operation was carried out in connection with the two missing but discovered excavators in Ellembelle, Western Region.
According to 3news.com, the suspects are currently in police custody.
The operation comes just one day after Ellembelle District Chief Executive (DCE) Kwasi Bonzo was arrested for obstruction.
He was arrested and taken to the Western Regional Police Headquarters for obstructing officers from performing their duties.
The officers had discovered the excavators, which had gone missing while in police custody.
Kwasi Bonzo will be arraigned in court on Thursday, September 8, according to the police.
He was granted bail shortly after his arrest, but it took some time for his lawyer to gain access to him.
