According to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Limited, a technical issue has affected its prepaid metering systems.
The electricity company said this has caused a halt in the purchase of electricity credit.
Customers in Volta, Kumasi, Accra, Takoradi, Tema, Cape Coast, Kasoa, Winneba, Swedru, Koforidua, Nkawkaw, and Tafo have been affected, according to an electricity company statement.
The company did not provide a timetable for when the problem will be resolved.
“Affected customers should be aware that our ICT team is working tirelessly to correct the anomaly and restore normalcy to the system.”
“We apologize for any inconvenience this technical challenge has caused,” it added.
