The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has extended working hours at all district offices on Saturday, October 1st, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sunday, October 2nd, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This is due to a technical issue that hampered power purchases.
According to a statement released on Friday, September 30, the ECG “wishes to inform all stakeholders, particularly our cherished customers on our prepayment metering system, that due to a technical challenge affecting smooth service provision to prepaid customers, the company will extend its working hours at all district offices on Saturday 1st October from 9AM to 4PM and Sunday 2nd October from 9AM to 4PM.”
“ECG wishes to reassure our valued customers that our team is working tirelessly to correct the anomaly and ensure smooth service provision.”

The company previously stated that the technical issue had been resolved in some areas of the country.
Customers in Greater Accra, Central, Eastern, Western, and Volta regions can now purchase electricity from District offices, according to a statement issued by management on Thursday, September 29.
“Customers should please note that our team is working to restore the systems in the affected areas, including Kumasi and Tema, as well as the 3rd party vending centres and the Mobile App,” the statement continued.
