According to reports, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is outsourcing its mobile app platform to Hubtel Company Limited.
“ECG has no contract with anyone named Hubtel.” So, ECG and Hubtel have a proof-of-concept agreement. “ECG hasn’t agreed on any percentages with Hubtel,” Samuel Dubik Mahama, Managing Director of ECG, told the press on Thursday.
“It’s quite sad that in this day and age when we have the Right to Information [Law], where you can get access to information, you choose to run with gossip,” the MD continued.
According to reports, the company’s recent technical difficulties were caused by squabbles over who should manage the mobile app.
