Dede Ayew asks for complete dedication from the Black Stars ‘new boys’

Andre Ayew, Ghana’s captain, has stated that new Black Stars players must be willing to die for the team during and after the 2022 World Cup.

Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey, Mohammed Salisu, Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer, and Stephen Ambrosius have all joined the four-time African champions ahead of the tournament in Qatar later this year.

All five are currently training in Ghana in preparation for international friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua.

The others were born in Europe to Ghanaian parents, with the exception of Salisu, who was born in Ghana.
Ayew has welcomed the five newcomers and urged them to give everything they have to help the Black Stars succeed.

“I know some people say they’ve come for the World Cup, but honestly, we’ll never know [the true reason].” “We know these are quality players who can contribute to the squad,” he told Graphic Sport.

“Now, they’ve decided to come, and if they have the right heart, the right determination to die for the team from the first minute to the 90th minute during the World Cup and after the World Cup, we’ll open every door we have to make them comfortable.”

“First and foremost, the fact that they consider themselves Ghanaians and are willing to play for Ghana indicates that they are welcome. “We’ll open the door to anyone who can help us achieve something in the long run.” They should come with a good heart and a good idea, and everyone will welcome them into the team.”

The Black Stars could make their debut against Brazil on Friday or against Nicaragua four days later.

Ghana sees these friendlies as excellent preparation for the World Cup in Qatar, where they will face Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea in the group stage.
