Nana Tabi III, Chief of Manso Agroyesum in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region, nearly died due to bad roads after falling off his motorcycle in an accident on the Agroyesum-Kumasi main road.
Agroyesum Chief recounted his ordeal on Akoma FM’s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma on Thursday, October 27, explaining how the poor condition of the road nearly killed him.
“I was riding a motorcycle Wednesday evening when we came to a point where the bike almost got stuck in the mud and slid.” We fell off, and I broke my ankle and got several bruises, not to mention the motorcycle falling on me.”
The chief told the show’s host, Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin, that he has never seen an asphaltic road in his area since ascending to the throne.
“We’re waiting for a politician to come here and campaign for votes.” “We will drive them away; we have voted for the NPP since the days of [former] President Kufuor, but we have nothing to show for it; our roads are terrible,” he lamented.
Agroyesum is the only community with a hospital in the Amansie South enclave. The St Martin’s Hospital serves residents of Amansie South, West, and Central, as well as parts of Fomena and Obuasi.

The poor condition of the road has had an impact on quality health delivery, as ambulances rarely make it on the road when patients need to be referred from Agroyesum to Kumasi and other referral centers.
Nana Tabi III also issued urgent calls to authorities to repair the road in order to prevent fatal accidents from occurring again.
