Alexander Afenyo-Markin, Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency, has donated a state-of-the-art health centre to the Woarabeba community in Winneba in his quest to bring and improve quality and affordable healthcare to his constituents.
On the occasion of the handover of the Hon Nii Ephraim Health Facility on Tuesday, September 13th, 2022, he emphasised his commitment to bringing quality health services closer to the people in order to improve their livelihoods.
Hon Nii Ephraim was a former Effutu National Democratic Congress, NDC Constituency Chairman and Effutu District Chief Executive. Hon Afenyo-vision Markin’s is to honour and reward deserving sons and daughters of Effutu who have served diligently in academia, religion, sports, and leadership, among other areas.
“The construction of such health facilities is consistent with President Akufo-Addo’s Agenda 111 policy, which aims to improve access to proper health care services regardless of where one is,” Mr Afenyo-Markin stated.
As part of his social contract to improve constituents’ health, the Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament is also working to build more health infrastructure needed to fulfil that mandate.

The Woarabeba health centre is the eighth in a series of health centres he built entirely on his own.
He stated that the overall goal, as stated in our health policy framework, is to ensure that all constituents and residents of Effutu achieve a level of health and social well-being consistent with the Effutu Dream.
In addition to these clinics, plans for the construction of the first ultramodern children’s hospital in the Central Region are underway in Winneba.
He made a GH10,000 cash donation to the Effutu Health Directorate for the purchase of drugs and other basic necessities for the facility’s smooth start-up.
A representative of the Effutu Municipality’s Director of Health Services, for her part, praised the Member of Parliament for his unwavering support for the provision of high-quality health care in Winneba. “Woarabeba and surrounding communities will receive comprehensive health care services.” “Among the issues, we hope to address are disease treatment, immunisation, health education, ante- and post-natal care, growth monitoring, and health promotion,” she said.
