Stephen Tetteh, Secretary of the Asogli State Council, has written to apologise to the Council’s leadership and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong for his official invitation to the latter for this year’s Te Za (Yam Festival).
The Assin Central Member of Parliament accepted the invitation in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ghana National Gas Company Limited, but the Council rejected his gifts.
He was also denied access to the Asogli State’s Agbogbomefia, Togbe Afede XIV.
A letter obtained by 3news.com, however, confirmed the official invitation of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP.
In a subsequent statement dated September 12, the Secretary accepted full responsibility for the “administrative lapse.”

He stated that it was Ken Agyapong who requested the invitation, but the Asogli State Council leadership refused.
This was due to their discovery of the firebrand MP’s “loose” utterances against Togbe Afede XIV.
Some of the statements were made as early as 2009, with the most recent on November 13, 2018, according to the statement.
Despite being rejected with his gifts, Ken Agyapong is said to have waved to the crowd before exiting the durbar grounds in his waiting vehicle.
