Youths of Barekese vandalize Chiefs palace
In the early hours of Sunday, August 21, there was mayhem in Barekese, Ashanti Region, as enraged youngsters allegedly attacked the chief’s palace.
Nana Amoapem Brenya II, who had been accused by the youths of not doing more to advocate for the development of the village, needed strong police protection to exit his besieged palace. The chief’s white pickup truck was also damaged.

As the tension rose, the cops were also pelted with stones.
