Authorities claim a second Nigerian politician has been decapitated by abductors in the country’s southeast.
Police in Anambra state claims the beheaded body of Nelson Achukwu, a former local MP, was discovered two weeks after he was kidnapped for the second time by gunmen.
His family is said to have paid a ransom for his safe return on both occasions.
It is unclear who kidnapped and then murdered the crippled politician.
Okechukwu Okoye, a serving member of the state assembly, was also kidnapped and decapitated a month ago.
A military commander and his female girlfriend were also recently beheaded.

As the country prepares for elections, there has been a spate of heinous killings in the southeast.
Some officials blamed the separatist Indigenous People of Biafra (Ipob), but the organization has consistently denied carrying out violent attacks.
