Akufo-Addo’s handlers are a national disgrace – Prof. Gyampo

Professor Ransford Gyampo, a political science lecturer at the University of Ghana, has slammed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-handlers and advisers.

According to him, the President’s recent statement regarding Aisha Huang’s repatriation demonstrates that his handlers are not doing a good job.

In response to the President’s statement in a Facebook post on Thursday, 16 September 2022, the Political Science lecturer stated that, as the nation’s leader, he should have access to all information.

“I’m not sure whether Aisha Huang was deported or fled the country.” Why should our entire President and Chief of Staff say this?
“What information can’t he obtain if he wants to?”

“The President’s handlers are a monumental embarrassment to the old man,” he added.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo stated in a Volta Region interview that he is unsure if Aisha Huang was deported.

The President stated that he was unaware of the final details of the deportation.

“I’m still not sure if she was actually deported.” Or whether she left the country the first time and has returned. There appears to be some doubt about it.”

“But, in any case, she’s become a sort of nickname for everything that galamsey represents,” he explained.

“We’ve agreed to work together on it.” We require the cooperation of the courts. Until I arrived, the punishment for those caught was relatively light. “However, we’ve changed the law to make the penalties for those caught more severe,” he added.

Under his presidency, he believes that efforts to combat illegal mining have made significant progress.
As a result, the President urged Ghanaians to maintain the momentum in dealing with the threat.
