Akufo-Addo: Ofori-Atta can lead Ghana out of its current economic crisis

Economy

Despite growing discontent among Ghanaians, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed confidence in the performance of his Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

Although many have called for the Finance Minister’s resignation due to alleged economic mismanagement, the President believes Ofori-Atta has what it takes to turn the country’s fortunes around.

He claimed that Ofori-Atta had proven himself by overseeing the Akufo-Addo administration’s previous successes.

“This same Finance Minister, for whom people are calling for his blood, is the very man who successfully led us out of the IMF program and helped us achieve the 7% growth rates that we had prior to the COVID.”

“I believe he has the same determination to get us out of this crisis that he demonstrated at the start of our government,” the president added.

President Akufo-Addo also stated that a ministerial reshuffle was not necessary at this time.
