Aisha Huang, the embattled Chinese galamsey queen, has fired her lawyer, Capt. (rtd.) Nkrabea Effah Dartey.
Miracle Attachey and Hope Agboado, two private legal practitioners, have taken his place.
Since 2018, the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP has been the controversial Chinese national’s legal counsel, representing her in both the circuit and high courts in the first galamsey prosecutions, which were eventually dropped by the state.
Capt. (rtd.) Nkrabea Effah Dartey also represented Aisha Huang on the new charges of illegal mining and illegal entry into the country, which are being heard concurrently at the Circuit and High Courts.
He has already cross-examined the first and second prosecution witnesses and was scheduled to cross-examine the third prosecution witness on Monday until his replacement was announced in court.
