Patricia Asiedua, alias Nana Agradaa, was arrested by the police after allegations of a money doubling scam were leveled against her by some members of the public.
The suspect is currently cooperating with the police investigation.
“Anyone who has been a victim of the alleged money-doubling scam should report to the Accra Regional Police Command for further action to aid the investigation,” police said in a statement.
Nana Agradaa is said to have announced the alleged money doubling at her church, Heaven Way Church in Weija, Accra, on her television station.
Members of the church claim Nana Agradaa took money from them last Friday with the promise of doubling it but failed to keep the promise despite receiving the money.
Thousands of her followers later besieged the church grounds in order to claim their seed money.

Nana Agradaa, a former traditional priestess, was once well-known for her money-making ritual, ‘sika gari.’
She was arrested a few months ago for allegedly operating two TV channels – Thunder TV and Ice1 TV – that allegedly broadcast money-doubling content in Kasoa, Central Region, without licenses and in violation of section 137 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960.
Concerns had been raised about people posing as spiritualists broadcasting inappropriate content in the media.
She was later convicted and sentenced to a GHS36,000 fine for operating a television station without a license, and a GHS10,000 fine for “charlatanic advertisement.”
The repented priestess now runs Heaven Way Church in Weija, Accra, where the latest scam allegation is said to have occurred.
