According to court sources, the Ghanaian social media commenter was sentenced to 10 days in prison.
This arises from claims made by Afia Schwarzenegger on UTV’s United Showbiz that she had an affair with the New Patriotic Party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, which he firmly rejected.
He then filed a defamation suit against Afia Schwarzenegger, the host of the United Showbiz program (Nana Ama McBrown), and panelists Kwame A-Plus and Mr Logic.
Tema, the Ghanaian socialite, was convicted and condemned for contempt by the High Court “B” on Thursday, December 1. According to happyghana.com, Afia Schwarzenegger has been sentenced to ten days in prison.
Afia is claimed to have remarked on UTV that the court case was pointless and that she had sex with the petitioner during their 16-month romantic connection. On the same broadcast, she uttered unprintable remarks against the petitioner (Chairman Wontumi).
The other respondents, Kwame A-Plus and Mr. Logic were fined 5,000 penalty units (60,000 Cedis) for participating in the conversation while knowing the subject was subjudicae (pending before the court) and making statements about the content of the case before the court.
Their actions were determined to be detrimental to the case at hand and likely to throw the administration of justice into disgrace.

Fada Dickson, the MD of United Television, was acquitted and discharged because he did not participate in the discussion, whereas a bench warrant was issued for Afia Schwar’s arrest.
